A paralegal is juggling her love of music and her
career at Manchester corporate and commercial law
firm Lopian Wagner. In addition to training to be
a solicitor, Lucy Holland makes use of her musical
talent as a valued member of acoustic rock band Marry
Another.
29-year-old Lucy, from Prestwich, enjoys playing
the violin and singing the backing vocals for the
band, which set up less than a year ago. They recently
tasted stardom when they recorded their first EP entitled
‘Thirty Six Guns No Souls’ at a studio
in Rochdale. The band ultimately aims to sign a recording
contract and has already secured gigs at Manchester
venues Satan’s Hollow and Witchwood.
Lucy said: “I love being able to balance law
and music. It means I get to meet many interesting
people from diverse backgrounds and my time with the
band really allows me to express myself creatively.”
Rehearsing fits in well with Lucy’s schedule,
as she practices with Marry Another during the evenings
and at weekends. She also enjoys socialising with
the other members of the band, who include a keyboard
player, drummer, guitarist and the lead singer.
Lucy continued: “It’s a really exciting
time for us at the moment as we’re currently
rehearsing for the approaching gigs. You never know
what to expect, but my job as a paralegal has taught
me to plan and prepare for everything, so I’m
hoping they’ll be a huge success.”
Co-founding Partner of the law firm, Anthony Wagner,
said “We’re very proud of Lucy –
she’s a bright and enthusiastic member of our
team and we wish her every success with her musical
pursuits.”
